In 2019 The Victory Hall Management Committee bought the old telephone box on the corner of Slitting Mill Road and Post Office Lane with a proposal of turning it into a Defibrillator Station. 'Rugeley First Responders' donated 50% of the cost of the Defibrillator and installation. They will also carry out necessary periodic checks to ensure its future operation. With the help of the Victory Hall Management Committee, Hall users and kind donations by locals, the remaining 50% of the Defibrillator was covered, plus the cost of the telephone box renovation. The total cost of renovation and Defibrillator was approximately £3,250. |
These are the works that were been carried out:
There will be some follow on works required, these to include re grassing the area around the box, a general tidy up, and a sign to be fitted on the bus shelter indicating the location of the defibrillator.
The Defibrillator was fully operational by the end of October 2019, has been registered with local emergency services and will in future be serviced by our local ‘Rugeley First Responders’ based at the fire station.
Fortunately to date it has not been required for an emergency!
